The Alberta Estonian Heritage Society executive had the honour of Chargé d'Affaires Riho Kruuv's company at the February 24 Estonian Independence Day lunch in Calgary. The Estonian diplomat stopped in Alberta on his way home from the Vancouver Winter Olympics to provide consular services in Edmonton and Calgary.

Riho Kruuv continued the spirit of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics with a day trip to the slopes of Nakiska, the downhill venue for the 1988 Calgary Olympics. Accompanied by Toomas Pääsuke and Bob Kingsep, the trio made the most of near spring skiing conditions and zero lift lines to carve their signatures on countless top to bottom runs.
