We invite all our readers to join us in wishing a very happy birthday to Estonian statesman, minister, and historian Dr. Mart Laar. Minister Laar ranks among the best known Estonians, not just for his role in the reestablishment of free Estonia, but also for the dozens of books and publications he has authored on Estonia’s history, including War in the Woods: Estonia's Struggle for Survival, 1944–1956, a work about the Forest Brothers anti-Soviet resistance movement.
