Folkdancers! RAKS coming soon
19 Feb 2012 Andres Kolga
Toronto Eesti Rahvatantsu Rühm Kungla would like to cordially invite you to attend the RAKS folkdancing camp being held at Jõekääru, Ontario from 31 August 2012 to 3 September 2012.

Kungla has organized this event twice before in 1997 and in 1999. Both were huge successes, with dancers coming from all over the East Coast. Since then, we have discussed organizing RAKS III and this year, with the resurgence of Kungla, we have decided to host the RAKS Maailma Rahavatantsu Laager (world folk dancing camp). Groups from across North America, Estonia, and elsewhere will be participating in this year's camp.

Groups will be housed in the barracks at Jõekääru. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served daily and a formal dinner and dance will take place on the evening of the 2nd.

Daily training sessions and activities will be conducted by experts from Estonia and trainers from the North American groups. A detailed list of training and activities will follow shortly.

"Train the trainer" sessions will be run to ensure succession for North American groups.

A “külapidu" will be set up in the hall every evening with music and dance. Cost for attending the event will follow upon RSVP from the groups. Approximate cost will be around $140-180.

Please RSVP by 29 Feb 2012 so that we are able to gauge the size of the camp and plan accordingly. RAKS is open to everyone 13+ at all skill levels regardless of being an active member of a dance group so please pass this on to anyone and everyone.

This is truly a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and meet Estonians abroad to build a solid connection between dance groups around the world. We guarantee a GREAT time filled with folk dancing, music, and fun fun fun!!

Please let us know if you have any questions or if you require any special needs or accommodation. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you this August! Andres Kolga, Esimees, On behalf of Kungla, www.kungla.ca
