Falun Gong marks resistance to communism with song
02 Oct 2009 Adu Raudkivi
The difference between the Falun Gong and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is wide. The CCP has murdered 15 to 100 million people whereas the Falun Gong are peaceful and pacifist who believe in Truth, Compassion and Forbearance - and practice it.

On October 1 the CCP marked their 60th anniversary in power with huge celebrations, despite the fact that large portions of their country live in poverty and hunger. The Falun Gong, on the other hand, will present the Shen Yun Performing Arts in Toronto, a performance of operatic singing, dance and opera, Chinese style on October 9,10 and 11 at the Canon Theatre in their style of peace.

The Shen Yun, who are based in New York, would usually have their performances around Chinese New Year, but this time have added another, since their last one was sold out.

Falun Gong, which is a philosophical movement that practices a form of Tai-Chi, was going along peacefully for six years in China when they were suddenly banned in June 20th, 1999 because they were growing in popularity too fast. A government section, Office 6-10 was added solely to persecute to Falun Gong. The Red Chinese government has been accused of harvesting organs from the Falun Gong who are among the hundred thousand in prison. The United Nations Committee on Torture has demanded an independent investigation. Amnesty International has also condemned Red China for their cruelty.

The Shen Yun performance is not as different as expected. It definitely is an experience.
