Ian Wishart, European VoiceBanks could face more rigorous stress tests later this year as the European Commission looks at ways to “learn lessons” from the financial crisis.
Michel Barnier, the European commissioner for the internal market, said a third round of tests must be “more robust and more credible”.
He said he supported suggestions made by the newly formed European Banking Authority (EBA) for the tests to go further than in previous rounds, with separate tests of capital and liquidity.
