The latest data from the Union of Automobile Dealers and Service Companies (AMTEL) showed altogether 15,350 new cars were sold in Estonia last year which accounted for a notable growth in the performance of the sector. In percentage terms, the car sales last year saw a huge 73.5% leap on the 2010 figure.

In December alone, which is a month of weak car sales, dealerships of automobiles sold 1,156 cars, compared to only 729 during the same month in 2009. AMTEL head Jaak Uudla hopes that sale of new cars will grow by 10-15% this year.
