TORONTO, CANADA, March 15, 2015 – The eleventh annual EstDocs Documentary Film Festival in Toronto is now accepting domestic and international submissions for its Short Documentary Film Competition. The complete EstDocs Film Festival will run from October 16-20, 2015.

Competition winners have the chance to be rewarded up to a thousand dollars individually. The prizes are generously sponsored by the Tartu College in Toronto and Otto Rannamäe Audience Award. The audience will be able to enjoy the top short films in a Toronto theatre during the festival in October.

"We are proud of how interest in the Short Film Competition continues to grow. Last year we were pleased to have an increase in the number of youth entrants", EstDocs Short Documentary Film Competition Director Tauno Mölder said. "Entries continue to arrive from the world over, though mainly from Canada and Estonia."

Films are accepted from both professionals and aspiring filmmakers. Entrants do not have to be of Estonian descent. "One does not need to be Estonian to appreciate a good story with an Estonian theme," Mölder added. "We have had a number of films by non-Estonians who have offered a different and refreshing point of view."

Submission Rules
• The 2015 EstDocs Short Film Competition welcomes short documentary films with any content and either live action or animated and in any style, provided that:
a) the film has some connection to Estonia or Estonians;
b) the film is documentary or docudrama.
• The maximum length for films is seven minutes, excluding credits
• Entries must submit films by mail or by electronic means by the September 23, 2015 deadline.
• Filmmakers may submit multiple entries, but each film requires a separate entry form.

Winning submissions and honorary mentions will be announced and screened in Toronto film venues for EstDocs audiences.

Submission Process
The entry form and guidelines for the Short Film Competition are available at www.EstDocs.com. Past competition submissions and winners can be viewed at Youtube.com/EstDocsTO .
