Normally known for its meandering pace, the Toronto's Don River swells after rainstorm.

Toronto was hit by heavy rains and there have been reports of flooding, downed trees, and power outages throughout the GTA.

Toronto Hydro says 12,000 customers are without power. Most of the outages are in the city's north and west ends. 75 per cent should be back by morning & 90 per cent by noon tomorrow, Toronto Hydro tweeted.

There are reports of heavy flooding at Lake Shore Blvd W and Remembrance Dr. and Harbour Square at Queen Quay and York.
