DAS Rose Visits Estonia to Discuss Strategic Stability Issues

Frank Rose, U.S. State Department Deputy Assistant Secretary for arms control, verification, and compliance, visited Tallinn from January 14-15 to brief Estonian officials on strategic stability issues as part of a trip that also included stops in Latvia, Lithuania and other regional capitals.

At a meeting at Parliament yesterday [January 15), he discussed U.S.-Russian arms control negotiations for both nuclear and conventional weapons, NATO’s role in these negotiations, and the status of European missile defense with Marko Mihkelson, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee and Mati Raidma, Chairman of the National Defense Committee.

Rose also met with Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Political Affairs Kyllike Sillaste-Elling and Ministry of Defense Director of Policy Planning Andres Vosman while in Tallinn.
