Calling all worker bees
27 Jun 2008 EWR Online
At the second talgud – working bee – to get Kotkajärve ready for the big Muskoka 2008 jamboree, there were far fewer willing volunteer hands than works boss Mikk Jõgi would have liked to have seen. While tasks are being completed, there still remains much to be done.

Those that came to pitch in were in the woods, felling trees, repairing outbuildings, clearing paths and campsites from the foliage that this year’s copious rainfalls have brought, as well as wiring and hammering away at a myriad of other necessary tasks. And then there were the indispensable ones who made sure the volunteers were very well fed. The Saturday evening saun did much to soothe tired muscles and provide an arena for further camaraderie.

Now that exams are over, extracurricular activities wrapping up, and Suvihari soon to crest, there is no excuse to not find the time to enjoy Kotkajärve while working with friendly and energetic individuals with a common goal. The next talgu days are July 19-20, and then on the weekend of August 9-10. Organizers would love to see people from Metsaülikool pitch in as well, for they will be enjoying the fruits of this labour the very following week after the jamboree.

Let them know of your attendance by e-mailing so that they know how many mouths to feed, which tasks to allocate. See you in Muskoka!
