RFE/RL Enthusiasm is running high, predictably, as South Africa plays host to the World Cup, but that doesn't mean the globe's biggest football tournament will kick off on June 11 without some controversy.
Speaking to reporters at a news conference in Johannesburg on June 7, officials from the Federation Internationale de Football Association, or FIFA, discussed its preparations for the 32-team tournament.
