American Ambassador to Estonia Michael C. Polt visited the International Center for Defense Studies (ICDS) in Tallinn on June 2 to discuss the new U.S. National Security Strategy (NSS) with a broad range of foreign policy experts and opinion leaders.
The NSS, which was released just last week, is a comprehensive articulation of the President's national security strategic approach and priorities, and is grounded in a pragmatic understanding of our strategic environment.
During the discussion, Ambassador Polt noted that America will endeavor to take the lead in shaping an international architecture that can galvanize collective action to address shared global challenges, but that this will be accomplished in a way that does not neglect America's support for universal values that it has stood for since its founding. The full text of the NSS may be found here.
