"educated, thinking peoples favourite" you must mean the 'socially engineered people's favourite'?!

How could anyone who loves their country vote for a godless globalist, (unless of course there were financial rewards involved). Under Obama, did not everybody get a free cell phone?

The final word should go to Voltaire.
“To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize.”
Freedom of speech may now return to the United States, making it great once again!

Smells like tt - ie think too much. Agree with Voltaire, but bombast is not criticism but populism magnified and tailored to the lowest common denominator.

Good article, makes sense to me. Would only add that Michael Moore accurately predicted a Trump victory some time ago.

morons vs geniuses10 Nov 2016 16:34
There are more morons than geniuses, so; where we all have a vote, there's big trouble.
I don't like the implications of Tõnu's piece.

Perhaps the writer should stick to things Estonian as he certainly is lacking in understanding of things American or know about how/why it still stands after 240 years.

Really? 240 years ago only the white elite had the vote. Recent past - Gore and Hillary both won more votes than their opponet. Yet what were the results - 8 years of Dubya, at least four of a clown, should he survive... Susyem works? Doubt it. The article was about reform, and Canada, where 61% did not want Trudeau also needs it. Coincindence or not, Tru are the three first letters in common for fawning PM's and clown prez-elect's last names. No E for true, is there?

Could you be any more obtuse with your ramblings?

240 years of only the "elite" voting?

Perhaps you should review your history AND current events. 240 years ago there were few if any democracies and what group of individuals were not allowed to vote this past Tuesday?

Dear anonymous. Where did my comment suggest 240 continuous years of only elite voting? Merely stated that it was that way in the beginning. The American system has improved since Washington's and Jefferson's day - btw both deists, maybe atheists, - who saw no place for the Church in governing. Irony then, that the ultra-right Christians were the deciding bloc that brought victory for the Donald.
It took a century and a half (almost) for women to get the vote. POCs were art the back of the bus in living memory, not allowed to use the elite's drinking fountains. Quite the equal rights empire.

Again, no suggestion of anybody being denied the vote in 2016. But what about the allegations of illegals voting in California? Not answered by the left-of-center media....

Was this the first presidential election in which "undocumented/illegal" immigrants in the United States were encouraged/allowed to vote?
