Googelda Broadview Avenue Planning Study .

Enough with the constant excuses, including this one, which is completely false. The Broadview study started way back in 2013, while this Baird was busy losing the first development proposal - see the link here: http://www1.toronto.ca/wps/por...

It is now time for those who have driven EM's future into the ground to answer questions and then step down. Let the grown ups, who are active in the community, take over and try to save what is left to be savaged.

Kui loed sinu poolt antud linki, siis on hoopis kirjas, et Mid-Rise ehitused on "in between scale of buildings, they are bigger than houses but smaller than towers (5-11 storeys subject to other criteria)."

Plans were actually put forth back in the mid 80's early 90's. and there were nay sayers even then. Too bad.

At least Guido et al has gotten his wish.

Guess teaming up with the Latvians sounds pretty good. 6 toes and all

This has nothing to do with an "impasse" between the two parties.

Can anyone please explain what this so-called "impasse" is?

It's time to refocus24 Oct 2016 09:01
The people who built the Estonian House now reside in Ehatare, which also needs to be reconstructed.
Perhaps, we should concentrate on a new Ehatare, with some space allocated to accommodating broader community activities.

This has not come as a surprise considering their track record. They hired and spent well over $100,000 on two of the most prominent consultants in the city who advised them that staying at Broadview would not be feasible. The consultants said to forget about the prospect of staying there. The Board then hired one last consultant (for unknown reasons), who told them that staying at Broadview is the best option. When the "naysayers" became concerned about the option, they were basically told to shut up and get on board. When asked about a contingency plan, they were told to shut up.

Enough is enough. No more bullying the community into silence. Time to answer some very tough questions.

The community as a whole needs to come together and clean up this mess that this board has left us with. Eesti Maja at Broadview will not exist. The time for nostalgia is long gone. Let's pick up the pieces of what we are left with and engage the existing resources in our community to deliver a solution that will benefit EVERYONE.

It's high time for the Esto-House and Tartu College senior managers to get on the same wavelength, talk in the interest of our community and solve its activities-space problem in a reasonable and logical fashion!!!
a more pressing issue26 Oct 2016 08:01
The Estonian House issue can wait while the Ehatare problem is resolved. The Government is forcing us to reconstruct Ehatare and there is a deadline.
Between the price of land and restrictive zoning, we're looking at a huge problem!

Quo Vadis Toronto Eestlased?

Quo Vadis?

All of these "pending issues" have been known about for the last 70 years. Amalgamation and a commitment to work together must occur.
