It is obvious that there are now 2 visions of NATO, one American and the other Eastern European. Since communism is now dead, the USA no longer sees Russia as an enemy. Their new vision of this organization is an alliance to protect its supply of crude oil and prevent "rogue nations" from targeting the USA with nucear weapons. Many Eastern European countries still think that the world is the same as it was during the cold war but in reality it is now very different.

Are you, Peter, living in the same world that freedom and democracy loving people are? read, please, carefully.., what Eerik-Niiles Kross wrote.

I am so tired of responding to ignoramuses such as you.

Juhul kui sind huvitab Eesti, ole positiivne

Just being realistic. Do you honestly think that Americans see Russia as a threat to them anymore? Maybe a rival but the real threat now is Islamic radicalism and future threats may be emerging superpowers such as China. Access to ever dwindling supplies of crude oil is now top priority and will be more so in the future since the USA would go bankrupt if their energy supply was cut off.
Estonians and other Eastern Europeans have to face reality and stop living in the past. NATO is no longer an organization dedicated to containing the communist republics of the now defunct Warsaw Pact.
