Thanks for the introduction, Peeter.
I hope that Mr. Kruuv senses a warm welcome among us, Canada's Estonians, and uses his new posting to reach out our young people with shaky Estonian language skills.
They should be reminded that they qualify for an Estonian passport -- actually a European Union passport -- which can be valuable for both emotional and professional reasons.
So what if their language skills are weak? The language can be learned! And if they visit Estonia, they could well find a reason to do it.

Further to the previous comment, if anyone is interrested in learning or improving their Estonian language skills, there are many oportunities available in Toronto.
www.eestikool.ca is but one oportunity.

Silvi, thanks for bringing attention to the new Toronto Estonian School website.

I also applaud the Language Immersion section of the website, which I hope will get more parents interested in introducing their children to learning Estonian.
