Whoever wrote this article should go back to school. He/she is not doing justice to the Estonian youth movement. I have never read an article written in such poor english. As an example , " One older (80+) ............ great degree to a decline in language skills." What ability are you talking about ??? What did the 80+ "mark" ?? Sentences start with "and" !!!! I could point out more .
I believe the article should have been written in estonian or at least proof read by someone .

Have you read mainstream English papers lately? The practice of placing age in brackets is quite common as is beginning sentences with and to emphasize a point. Thereby also avoiding run-on sentences. And what is with the ...... in your comment? Unable to finish sentences, are we?

Some advice: pick up a copy of the Globe style manual or Strunk and White before taking the negative plane to nowhere.

"One older (80+) local scouter marked at the final campfire with understandable regret and some dismay that North American guides and scouts have lost that ability, thanks to a great degree to a decline in language skills." Would you please explain what ability are you talking about. I don't know how to explain the dots other than you missed the quote marks . Just incase , this is a quote mark " . Incase you don't know , they are used to specify the beginning and the end of what someone else wrote or spoke.

The previous paragraph referred to that ability - read the article again. And it is in case, not incase.
