The bottom paragraph is completely contradictory if what Peter Van Loan said was true; namely that EKN asked for the Canadian government to ignore Estonia during the Bronze Soldier crisis.

If what JK says is true, it calls for some explanation.

Perhaps, what we really need is re-definition of the EKN's mandate in this, the period of Estonia's re-independence. Obviously, the EKN is no longer the authentic voice of Estonians -- those not muzzled by by the Soviets; nor is it the weighty Estonian lobby in Ottawa shifting Canadian foreign policy to Estonia's favour. Then, what is it?

The Kremlin has ostensibly purchased Stephen Harper's foreign poicy agenda. To ensure that the Russians remain happy, Harper is also increasing Canada's reliance on Russian natural gas.

This should make Van Loan and EKN very happy.
