Tere K.Linda Kivi!

I am looking at a picture of Betti Alver, semiprone in the snow at the feet of my mother, Lydia Olvet, beside the then library of the University of Tartu in the early 'thirties. They were good friends.

Translating Tähetund is a challenge, I agree. I am a neophyte at translating Esto poetry. Asta Villmann works, Alver less so.

Estos are natural treehuggers. But language, as you point out, is truly the destiny-determinant of a people.

I heard that, in Estonia, six dgrees of separation is reduced to two. Perhaps. In Canada it may be so. Imbued language/culture reveals it.
