The 2013 Baltic American Freedom League Annual Awards Banquet will be held Saturday April 6, 2013 at the Latvian Community Center, 1955 Riverside Drive in Los Angeles, California.

The keynote speaker, Representative Adam Schiff, represents California's 28th Congressional District. He has recently agreed to become the Co-Chairman of the House Baltic caucus. In his 7th term in the House of Representatives, Rep. Schiff currently serves on the powerful House Appropriations Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. As one of the oldest and most powerful committees in Washington, the House Appropriations Committee is responsible for setting all funding priorities for the federal government.

The BAFL Baltic Freedom Award is being presented to Marius Markevicius, writer and director of the documentary film "The Other Dream Team"; the inspirational story of the 1992 Lithuanian Olympic basketball team and their incredible journey from the clutches of Communism to the Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Entertainment will be provided by "Draugai" (Friends); a Lithuanian ensemble, organized by Grazina Grinkevicius in 2007. "Draugai" perform Lithuanian folk songs, songs by Lithuanian composers and current popular songs. "Draugai" have performed at various local events and annual "Lithuanian Days Festivals".
